A Fond Memory of Paul Prudhomme

I had the pleasure of meeting Paul Prudhomme at the San Francisco Fancy Food show. Suffice it to say, it was a very enjoyable experience. Paul greeted me as if I was an old friend. Sharing the passion for cooking, we talked about Virginia Gourmet and the Mrs. Bryant's product line. I shared with Paul that I had his cookbook, had eaten in his restaurant in New Orleans, and had developed Mrs. Bryant's Louisiana spice blend. He was interested in the spice blend - a blend of black pepper with bourbon, garlic, green peppercorns,and shallots. A delicious and quick way to season your shrimp and other meats, grits, potatoes, and gravy. Unfortunately, I never had a chance to get a tin of the Louisiana spice blend to Paul. However, for those of you who are reading this, you have the opportunity to buy the spice on-line. Create your own taste of Louisiana with a simple sprinkle. Cheers to Paul, who introduced many to a whole new way of cooking!
