Summer is winding down and the Summer harvest has come in. Enjoy the delicious cucumbers, salad ingredients, and beets you grew or purchased at the Farmer's Market year-round by preserving them in vinegar. Virginia VinegarWorks has done an outstanding job making delicious vinegars from Virginia's wines. They even collaborated with Starr Hill Brewery to make a Malt Vinegar from Starr Hill's Amber Ale.
Here are some of our recipe ideas:
White Wine Vinegar - This delicious vinegar is made from Chardonnay Wine. When you soak your cucumbers in this vinegar, there's no need to add any sweetener. Add a little of our Greek spice blend for a delicious experience.
Red Wine Vinegar - Made from various red wines, this vinegar is an excellent choice for marinating beef, pork and lamb. Also delicious in pasta sauces
Norton Wine Vinegar - The Norton grape makes a full bodied and aromatic wine. This vinegar is great for bold, mixed greens salads.
Better Than Balsamic - A perfect blend of sweet and tart. This White Balsamic Vinegar is Chardonnay based and aged in a whiskey barrel. Use this vinegar to make a sweeter vinaigrette by mixing with brandy.
Dazzle Razz - Delicious raspberry vinegar made from 8 pounds of raspberries per gallon of vinegar. Pair with fruits like peaches and apples for a great combination.
Malt Vinegar - Made with Amber Ale, this vinegar is a must have for your freshly caught fish and chips.
